The Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our technical team and business stakeholders. This individual will be responsible for understanding the business needs, analysing processes, and translating requirements into technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the life science industry and extensive experience in software product development.

  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements.
    • Analyse business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive requirement documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flows.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the software development team.
    • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
    • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
    • Take ownership of and lead product demonstrations.
  • Solution Design:
    • Work closely with the development team to design software solutions that meet business needs.
    • Develop functional specifications and ensure they are clearly understood by the development team.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of user interfaces and user experience (UI/UX) improvements.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing:
    • Collaborate with the QA team to develop test plans and test cases.
    • Participate in testing activities to ensure that the developed software meets business requirements.
    • Identify and document defects/improvement areas, and work with the development team to resolve them.
  • Project Management:
    • Assist the project manager in creating project plans and timelines.
    • Monitor project progress and report on status, risks, and issues.
    • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, and within scope.
  • Industry Expertise:
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the life science industry.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on industry best practices.

 

 

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Other Skills

 

The following criteria outline the minimum hiring criteria for this position, unless otherwise stipulated below as “preferred,” or “a plus.”

 

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science, data science, business, or a related discipline, with 5 or more years’ relevant professional experience in a corporate / business or consulting environment. An advanced degree may be required
  • Technical experience relevant to sub-function of assignment, e.g., technical business needs analysis, software engineering, quality engineering, technical support, technical writing, etc. 
  • Life sciences' research and analytics experience is a plus 
  • Consulting experience is a plus
  • Advanced technical expertise in area of specialization, as evidenced by effectiveness in assuming routine project leadership responsibilities
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more programming languages or other relevant technical tools used by Prescient Technology, as evidenced by ability to effectively assume and complete project leadership responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the management consulting and/or life sciences industry and is able to parlay this into consistently effective advice to our project teams
  • Customer & Quality Centricity: demonstrable client-centric and quality-oriented mindset and approach with a high level of attention-to-detail

·         Communication: strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Track record of proactive communication in the work environment, including proactively seeking feedback to improve capabilities. Understands varying cross-functional roles and responsibilities and adapts communications accordingly. Communicates technical information in a manner that others can assimilate

·         Collaboration: strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work well within teams. Knows how to identify and leverage diversity within teams

·         Project Management, Time Management & Organisation: demonstrated abilities to effectively support projects to ensure on-time, within-budget, and high-quality deliverables. Demonstrates high attention-to-detail and quality. Proven abilities to operate autonomously when needed and make decisions with confidence. Recognises shifts in priorities and other changes that impact work and adjusts accordingly

·         Influencing & Stakeholder Management: demonstrated ability to effectively manage routine interactions and communications with stakeholders. Proactively plans stakeholder interactions and communications into process and approach
