At Prescient, we're looking for a dynamic, highly skilled Engagement Manager in Quantitative ad Qualitative Primary Research Consulting to join our Commercial Practice team. This role is based in our UK team, located in Manchester or London.

The Commercial Practice specializes in primary market research and brand strategy development. The types of projects market research projects delivered include: Patient Journey, Segmentation, Market Understanding, Demand Assessment, and Brand Story Assessment.

 

About the Opportunity

As an Engagement Manager, you’ll take a central role in overseeing Primary Market Research projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that insights are both actionable and aligned with clients' strategic goals. This role is a unique blend of engagement management, client relationship building, and advanced data analysis—focused on leading research teams to solve complex business problems for our pharmaceutical clients.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of projects, from customer and market research to strategic decision-making for both emerging and established brands. As a leader in the practice, you will also play a key role in mentoring junior team members, ensuring their professional growth, and promoting a culture of excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure three-dimensional management of client engagements including design, planning, client management, people management, evidence collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior client stakeholders, understanding their business challenges and translating them into effective research solutions.
  • Seek out new business within existing accounts and pursue opportunities with new brands.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of sophisticated statistical models, surveys, and data collection methodologies to solve business problems and uncover insights.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., medical, marketing, product development) to integrate research findings into broader business strategies.
  • Develop and deliver high-level reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations to clients, ensuring clarity and relevance to their business objectives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in research, bringing innovation and fresh thinking to our client solutions and thought leadership.
  • Support the growth of the practice by contributing to proposal development, presenting to clients, and identifying opportunities for additional engagement.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
  • Multiple years of experience in quantitative and qualitative primary research, data analytics, or consulting, with a proven track record of managing complex research projects within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven expertise in designing and executing complex quantitative research projects, with a strong grasp of survey methodology, statistical modeling, and experimental design.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, and the ability to translate research insights into valuable recommendations for clients.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical findings in a clear, client-friendly manner.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client needs and develop research solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Track record of contributing to business development efforts, including proposal writing and supporting sales pitches.
