You will be responsible for designing and developing intuitive user interfaces, mock-ups and clickable wireframes and will have the opportunity to create original graphic designs. The UI/UX developer position requires an understanding of software development life cycle and various design tools.

Example Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Create concepts, wireframes, and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Design and create mockups and user journeys for a wide range of devices including mobile.
  • Strategically create new features and functionality based on user stories and behaviour.
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables).
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
  • Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary.
  • You're a dev at heart with an eye and appreciation of well-designed products and an end-to-end thinker and problem solver.

 

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Other Skills

 

The following criteria outline the minimum hiring criteria for this position, unless otherwise stipulated below as “preferred,” or “a plus.”

 

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in design or in a related discipline, with 3 years or more experience in user centric UX/UI.
  • Expert knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS pre-processor tools.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using InVision, Sketch or similar tools.
  • Experience using MVVM JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, React JS, etc) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of build systems like Gulp/Webpack and version control (git).
  • Expertise in building responsive and/or mobile interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
  • Demonstrated design and UX skills.
  • Strong portfolio (please include link or examples in job application)
